Milled from Beams. Longleaf only bothers salvaging oak which is quite old and has taken on "rustic" qualities such as darker tone to augment its tight, old-growth grain structure. Expect some drying checks, nail holes, bug tracks, some knots and wide color variation. Tongue and grooved, relief on the back. Can be used as panelling, too!

from the Bakerville, CT mill.

Texture: Most is walked smooth, but some boards are more coarse.
Character: Rustic! Some checking, occasional knots, a consistent nail pattern
(most nail heads still present).
The floor never had a finish applied to it.

be up to 15% waste depending on what is
deemed too rustic to use!

Longleaf's Naily Buckshot Grade provides a unique
look with warm coloring and the solid wood feeling
of a medium grade hardwood. It is sawn from
structural timbers that had structural decking
nailed to them with 1/4" spikes. The spikes leave
peppered holes with black mineral stain auras.

This Hemlock was salvaged from the pilings supporting the old Fore River Bridge in Quincy, MA. We have 600 sq ft in stock. This is the end of this lot. The blue clay of the Boston Harbor penetrates through the blond wood and embues it with an ethereal smoky blue cast.
